Moskau/Nizhni Novgorod. Das „Festival der Deserteure“, das vom 22.-25. Februar 2007 von autonomen Gruppen in Moskau und Nizhni Novgorod organisiert wurde, hatte sich zum Ziel gesetzt Themen wie Kriegsdienstverweigerung und Antimilitarismus stärker öffentlich zu machen. Während des fünftägigen Festivals wurden antimilitaristische Filme gezeigt, Vorträge und Diskussionen organisiert und Aktionen auf der Straße durchgeführt.

„Zu ironisch!“

Immer häufiger und mit teilweise obskuren Begründungen untersagen russische Behörden Versammlungen und Demonstrationen von Menschenrechtsgruppen. Dabei wird das Recht auf Versammlungsfreiheit systematisch ausgehöhlt.

St. Petersburger Antifaschist erstochen

Am 13.11.2005 wurde der 20-jährige Antifaschist und Musiker Timur Katscharawa in St. Petersburg von einem Faschisten erstochen. Kurz nach der Teilnahme an der Aktion „Food Not Bombs“, einer Solidaritätsaktion für Obdachlose, wurden er und sein Freund Maxim Zgibai von einer Gruppe von 10-12 Neonazis angegriffen. Beim Übergriff riefen die Neonazis die Parole „Anti-Antifa“.
