International Youth Human Rights Movement in cooperation with other civic networks and projects announces the launch of the long-term programme for young Germans "Past and Future of Democracy in Eastern Europe" and invites everyone to join!
We invite you to apply until January 27th!
20 years ago, in 1989, the Berlin Wall was destroyed, but today we - young people from Eastern and Western Europe - are still separated by walls and barriers. Therefore, those who are willing to go beyond these "dividing lines", who see the Europeans’ common future broader than the framework of the European Union, especially young Germans, can reach out to their eastern neighbours and make our common future look like we dream to see it. We, the young activists, researchers, journalists and Human Rights activists from Eastern Europe, are looking for people of the same views - students and post-graduate students, young journalists and researchers, activists and Human Rights defenders from Germany, who are eager to understand and influence the social processes in Eastern Europe: Human Rights, anti-fascist and peace initiatives, the rights of students, etc. Note! The programme is under development and launch, its topics and further development depend on the programme participants, their motivation and willingness to help and participate. The programme starts between Germany and the following countries: Belarus, Russia, Ukraine. In the future the geography may be expanded to include the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia. In the framework of the programme we are ready: to assist young people and activists from Germany in the organization of long-term and short-term exchanges and internships on the basis of non-profit organizations in the countries of the project; to share contacts in Eastern Europe and to support joint projects with the groups in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine working for Human Rights, students rights, anti-fascist, environmental, promoting peace initiatives, etc.; to participate in organizing a series of educational activities (discussions, film-festivals, lectures) in the cities of Germany with the participation of experts from the countries of the project; to share information about international meetings, seminars and conferences, to act as partners and co- organizers. We are looking for organizations and groups from Germany for long-term cooperation of the programme development. We are interested in partners who are: interested in promoting their activities in Eastern Europe, involved in Human Rights and civic activities; working with youth; ready to participate actively in the development and promotion of the programme. We invite to participate only those young people from Germany who are: interested in Eastern Europe from civil, political or Human Rights point of view; willing to work together with youth from other countries to solve problems related to Human Rights, racism and neo-Nazism, militarism and aggression, understanding of the totalitarian past, the rights of students, etc.; speak Russian or are willing to study it, as well as speak English. If you decide to participate in our programme, please send your request to the address: Diese E-Mail Adresse ist gegen Spam Bots geschützt, du musst Javascript aktivieren, damit du sie sehen kannst not later than January 27th Please forward this letter to 10 friends, and in Eastern Europe maybe democracy will come :)) Organizers of the programme: International Youth Human Rights Movement: http://www.yhrm.org/ «Young Europe» Movement: http://www.youngeurope.org/ Programme «Action for Change»: http://afc.ynnet.org/en/ |
